trying to reign in the porkfest going on over at the mayor's office.
Well, I think it is a step in the right direction, and the kind of thing
that I hoped would come out of the change to a city form of government.
Good on you, City Council.
I don't know if the council's objection is based on their not being
consulted about the appontments beforehand, or because they don't want
to see the taxpayer's money thrown around on things that have no benefit
to the city or it's citizens.
Being well known for a charitable disposition, I will go for the latter.
And I hope the council will apply that metric to all of their decisions
and not cave in to agitation from people in favor of funding a position
with a title that makes us feel all warm and fuzzy but will be a
position that brings no benefit to the people who pay the rent around here.
But if there turns out to be money left over with nothing to do with it,
you can put me up to be the mayor's advisor for matters pertaining to
unicorns.
