I direct the project design and finance activities at the worlds first
ecosystem endowment. (see www.glpf.org<http://www.glpf.org/> and watch the
video for a good summary) We are interested in financing a series of projects
to build new applications, systems, or other prototype technologies that
present users with new information about how their day-to-day choices can
improve or degrade the health of the worlds largest source of freshwater. We
hope to create new ways for technology to link decisions to their ecological
impact and help shape better choices. The Fund expects to support a number of
multi-institution, multi-sector, multi-disciplinary teams in mid-2013.
Projects should target a specific ecological outcome, test a potentially
disruptive technology-enabled strategy, and involve all sectors affected by the
project (typical Fund-supported teams involve over 10 institutions).
Weve posted a request for five page preliminary proposals on our web site:
http://goo.gl/UdNvD Weve also posted a set of conversation starters in the
form of potential project descriptions, a set of resource links that
prospective teams might find useful, and an initial set of FAQs. Well update
the FAQs and resource material periodically. Please let us know if you have
questions or suggestions for material that others might find useful.
We welcome early submittals, inquiries and conversations. Well do our best to
be responsive, but expect that this request will generate a lot of interest.

Feel free to call with any questions. Have a Wonderful New Year!
