Here is one where I know you have data per our private exchange on
demographic questions you ask.
Is there any difference in political views of Online Government
Participators and Neighbors Online?
My experience is that OGPs - at least in terms of those who post - the
very conservative and very liberal live true to their views and
moderates just don't bother to express themselves.
With Neighbors Online, while exchanges don't often surface partisan
divide issues, participants seem to be spread much more across the
political spectrum.
The one problem with this question is the urban bias in the Neighbors
Online base (with e-mail lists anyway), so I wonder if political views
vary with rural, urban, and suburban.
So, I wonder if my claim that promoting a locals online at the
national level will attract a bi-partisan foundation to people to work
together on local issues of common interest! If avenues of OGPs to
participate online contribute to political warfare nationally, can NOs
bring people together?
