I've been making apple cider and have much more apple pulp, also known as
pomace, than I can fit in my compost bin.
I've packed it into 10 bags with pomace weighing between 25 and 50 pounds each.
It's somewhat moist and packed with nitrogen. It's the perfect green
ingredient for getting a compost pile full of 'browns' such as leaves or dry
grass heating up, even in snowy weather.
Help yourself. In the alley between 31st St. South and 30th, just off of the
north side of Lake Street. Address is 3016 East Lake Street, Minneapolis
55406. Look for the bright green and burlap bags.
Cheers!
Jeff
