Location: Menlo Park Academy
Reports to: Director, Menlo Park Academy
Status: Full-Time school year position, Exempt
Broad Scope and Function of Job:
Responsible daily for four classroom hours of teaching at-risk high school
students. Planning will include developing curriculum to meet the State
Standards. Works with the Director to develop and carry-out day-to-day
programming in 65 student alternative high school.
Major Job Responsibilities:
Is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Teacher Functions:
-Teaches assigned hours M-F, high school level classes in Social Studies areas
-Maintains teaching credentials.
-Works with advisory group, including individual advisee meetings.
Team Functions:
-Works with Director and other staff on day-to-day program development.
-Keeps necessary records and provide reports.
-Works on achievement goals and objectives.
-Builds awareness of resources at ESNS and acts as referral to these resources.
Is in direct contact with parents and youth where confidential matters are
discussed.
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
Education: Minimum Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education- Social
Studies, with current Minnesota teaching license.
Experience: Classroom experience preferred. Relevant experience with
at-risk youth and previous experience in an alternative school setting, a plus.

Compensation: Minimum of $16.75-18.00 per hour depending on qualifications,
benefits
