Velner, Richard E. (Dick) age 82, of Minneapolis, passed away June 7, 2022.
Dick was born on September 17, 1939, in Minneapolis MN. He was a proud
graduate of De Lasalle High School, class of 1957. After graduating from St
Mary's College (Winona) in 1961 he worked for the Pillsbury Company and
Smith Barney. Dick was a creative, unique thinker and passionate about K-12
mathematic curriculum. Dick loved the city of Minneapolis and all it had to
offer. He was a loving and devoted father and was extremely proud of his
fourteen grandchildren. Dick is survived by his children, Stephen (Teri),
Timothy (Kathleen), Sara (Mark) Mason, Katy (Brian) Rodeghier;
grandchildren, Henry, Mary, Charlie, Frank, Lucy, CeCe, Vinny, Lindsey,
Matt, Mikey, Casey, Ben, Emma, Adam; brother, Robert (Winnie). Dick is
preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Blanche and brother Thomas
"Clell". Funeral Service 11 AM Monday, June 27th with visitation beginning
at 10 AM at Washburn-McReavy Edina Chapel, 5000 West 50th St., Edina.
Private Interment. Memorials preferred to The Salvation Army.
