If you care about streetcars and changing the way we travel around Columbus,
please come to a public meeting sponsored by City Council on streetcars. IT
is set for Monday, April 28th at 5:00 p.m. in City Council chambers located
at 90 W. Broad Street. There is parking in the city lot on the north side of
City Hall.
City Council wants to know if people are interested in streetcars.
Everything that I hear says they are, especially with gas prices approaching
$4.00 a gallon. Streetcars will connect the 50,000 students at OSU with
downtown Columbus, the Short North and Italian Village. Last year
Experience Columbus reported more than 2,000,000 in attendance for
conventions and meetings -- right on the line. As for economic impact,
Portland reported over $3 billion worth from streetcars.
Don't assume someone else will be there. We need your voice too. Please
come to this important meeting to show your support. Kathleen
