comment after my introduction comment, but never received a reply. I have
seen several comments about not wanting gambling in New Hampshire..........I
just have to point out that we HAVE gambling in New Hampshire - Lottery;
scratch tickets; Bingo; Texas hold-em; Simulcast wagering; live
wagering..........all forms of gambling! The only thing we don't have is
any type of services or assistance for the gambling addict & their families
which we will have with expanded gambling. 1% of wagering on EACH video
maching will go into a fund for this - a fund that CANNOT be used by the
State or anyone else for any other purpose. Presently there are gambling
addicts from New Hampshire being treated in Deleware with funds from their
slots! If we allow expanded gambling, we will be able to treat our own
problems.
There are State Liquor stores on all New Hampshire major highways, 32% of
traffic fatalities in 2008 were alcohol related [Center for Disease Control]
and no one sees this as a bad way to get revenue, but there has not been any
gambling related injuries or deaths, yet many view it as a way to ruin our
state! Gambling does not kill people, alcohol does!
