Thank you for sharing your interest in CityCamp. There may be some
misunderstanding. I am not a solution provider for CityCamp. CityCamp is an
open source model for plugging into an international unconference series
and online community for municipal innovation. I created CityCamp and made
it open source for anyone to copy. Since then CityCamps have happened over
25 times in 6 countries on 4 continents. I am sure there are organizers who
would like to bring CityCamp to their European city but I am not the person
who makes them happen. Also, the opportunity is unclear from your emails.
What I read is a facilitated networking opportunity and business
development, a commitment to deliver a solution to a European city in
exchange for recognition by your organization. I see that the event is 3
days in San Francisco. I live in Virginia so it seems there is an expense
to participants to travel and stay in San Francisco. I don't see any
articulation of incentives for being selected as a winner. Is there a cash
prize? Do participants pitch a cost with their solution? Is there a good
faith promise that winning will lead to some sort of paid contract? These
are unclear.
I do appreciate your interest in CityCamp. It seems like it is not a fit
for your program.
Best Regards,
Kevin
