the Abingdon Road - that is the stop directly outside the Nisa convenience shop
[link below]. Ominously no date for lifting the suspension is given.
This is unacceptable. This stop is well used, even in the evening, and is
conveniently located for Nisa and Tesco. It has lighting, seating and a
decent-sized shelter.
Removing this stop would mean walking distances of close to 400 m from nearby
residential properties, and would mean residents to the south having to use the
Canning Crescent stop which has no facilities.
This is a blatant betrayal of the needs of residents in order to please
retailers in the new Westgate shopping centre.
Please ask your local councillor Sobia Afridi and and Council leader Ian
Hudspeth to reverse this decision:
