As the economy tanks "worser and worser" small crime rises. How can we reach
out to our precinct law enforcement, our city government, our state
representative and senators, and our president to tell them the effects of
doing nothing over the past 4 or 5 years is now coming home in real ways.
People are hungry, homeless, our personal and community security is at risk,
our personal and community safety nets are at risk, and we feel powerless to
address simple neighborhood concerns -- who will listen to our story?
I can't relax and just say "someone will take care of this." We -- real people
in real neighborhoods -- must do something to exert pressure on persons who
actually CAN take care of this. I don't want to hear the standard spiel --
these times call for thinking and doing outside the box.
If you can send me your thoughts, I'll see that they're passed along to local
officials in positions of authority.
