and expands on the standard curriculum with the addition of more than 25
hours of hands-on activities, lectures, design exercises and dynamic guest
speakers. This PDC emphasizes urban permaculture, Minnesota specific
strategies, and social justice in our work as permaculturists.
Presented in a series of six 2-day classes, one weekend a month from April
through August of 2017, the course includes multiple opportunities to visit
permaculture and urban farm sites in the Twin Cities and around the state.
Guest presenters include Dan Halsey, Sam Grant, and Land By Hand.
In addition to traditional lectures and hands-on projects, the course will
provide opportunities for learners to intern at sites, help launch new
gardens, and visit places on their own time. Sites we'll visit include
Thiel Gardens, Open Arms Farms, and Sisters' Camelot, just to name a few.
