Join us for the 152nd Memorial Day Observance at Minneapolis Pioneers and
Soldiers Memorial Cemetery.
Where: Minneapolis Pioneers and Soldiers Memorial Cemetery, intersection of
Cedar Avenue and Lake Street.
When: Monday, May 30th at 10 a.m.
Participants: Seward Community Concert Band, students from the Minnesota
Transitions Charter School, American Legion Post #. Our keynote speaker is Milt
Schoen, former Director of Hennepin County Veterans Affairs and incoming
Commander of Post #1.
Parking: There is limited parking in the cemetery but ample on-street parking
nearby. There are bike racks in the cemetery and we are on several bus lines
and close to the Lake Street LRT stop.
Who: Everyone is welcome. Free and open to the public. We have a limited number
of chairs so if you have a lawn chair or blanket, feel free to bring it.
At 1 p.m. there will be a history talk (seated). Come learn about some of the
cemetery’s fascinating residents. Again, this event is free. Everyone is
welcome.
