from the League of Women Voters is putting on a forum for Minneapolis mayoral
candidates focusing on issues of homelessness. The event is from 7 to 8:30 pm
and will be moderated by Monica Nilsson, a local advocate for the homeless.
The forum will address the presence of homeless individuals in the community,
sleeping in public, community livability, access to shelter and interaction
with resources.
Candidates will be encouraged to demonstrate a depth of knowledge that shows
their ability to be a leader in multi-agency efforts to address homelessness.
Thought folks would be interested in this since there ave been many posts on
this issue recently.

Year Plan? It's over. That's the first problem. Secondly, what is the charge of
this office? To coordinate resources? Okay, how's that? This Office has no say
whatsoever over HUD, SAMHSA, DOL or DOJ funding streams or programs. They
coordinate what, exactly? The CoC process? ESG? CDBG? All of those Federal
funding efforts existed for decades and didn't require an office with four
people to coordinate. I worked on all of those things...I want to know exactly
what it is this office coordinates.

what we're talking about? Research? Who holds the Doctorate in Urban Policy and
Planning directing those efforts? Research on the problem? What for example,
not already done by HUD, the PHAs, DOL, SAMHSA or Wilder?

Is that what we're talking about?

Where are the annual reports for the 10 years of the Plan's course? You mean to
tell me that the County and City spent millions of dollars over a decade and
didn't require an annual report? Name one other office that is allowed to skate
like that...I dare you.

to report progress toward the six goals identified? Is that the case? And how
much money was actually spent on the 10 Year Plan? Why can't we find that,
anywhere?
