opportunity to vote for a new State Rep. to fill the seat vacated by
Representative Chris Walsh's passing. The Walsh family has endorsed Maria
Robinson.
Maria Robinson graduated from MIT with a degree in chemical engineering.
She went on to get a masters degree in law. These accomplishments alone
speak to her discipline, drive, motivation and endurance under pressure.
They exemplify how she aims higher than average and makes big things
happen. As an accomplished MIT grad, she has a tremendous MIT alumni
network in Boston, Cambridge and beyond which has provided great support
from near and far in this election because people who are on the cutting
edge making things happen know that the legislature, and ultimately we the
people, will benefit from having her skills and talent involved in creating
critical legislation. Many legislators at the State House will want to tap
into her unique expertise. She will be a tremendous asset on Beacon Hill.
Maria Robinson is the only candidate who currently has children in the
Framingham public schools. She is involved in the PTOs. She knows the
issues, what parents and educators are concerned with and how education can
be enhanced to better meet students' needs and the needs of today's
families and teachers. She will advocate knowing first hand how to bring
other legislators on board.
In her professional field of clean energy, Maria has written legislation
and worked with legislators across the country for years. She is the only
candidate with experience doing the job she is running for. She writes
legislation and builds support to get it passed, which is what this job is
all about. Additionally, clean energy is an important emerging industry
with the potential to drive economic development in MA. and she knows that
industry inside out. She can help ignite that economic engine for Framingham
and the state of MA.
Maria and her husband have adopted two children from foster care. They also
invited her parents to move into their home. Maria's multigenerational
family reflects her values and her understanding of working families,
children's needs and our aging population.
As an architect Rep. Chris Walsh brought a new perspective to the
legislature. Given the opportunity to fill his seat, Maria will also bring
a unique perspective with her extremely well rounded personal and
professional life and her unique expertise in chemical engineering, clean
energy, energy efficiency, and the law. Maria Robinson walks the talk, has
depth, substance, experience, and the accomplishments to back it up.
I recently had the honor of attending the swearing in ceremony for Senate
President Karen Spilka at the State House. How proud I was to see our
accomplished female Senator taking the helm, but I looked around the room
and saw a legislature that didn't look like Framingham or MA. It is still
homogeneous. Framingham can bring productive change to the legislature by
electing Maria Robinson. Her experiences, expertise and perspectives are
greatly needed on Beacon Hill. I believe Framingham will see tremendous
results from Maria Robinson as the next State Representative in the Sixth
Middlesex District of Framingham. I live in precinct three and therefore
won't have the privilege of voting in this State Rep. race. If you do, I
hope you'll join Chris Walsh's family by voting for Maria Robinson. We are
one Framingham.
