has a large inventory of FREE seeds that will be available this month for
community gardens. The seeds are from a number of seed companies, and they were
packaged for the 2015 and 2014 seasons-with a smaller amount from 2013. They
include a wide range of vegetables, herbs, annual flowers and perennial plants,
both hybrid and heirloom, but they are NOT organic seeds. We have pulled out
varieties that are past their window of viability.
Minnesota Green is a 29-year-old program that distributes donations of plant
material, seeds, and gardening tools to community and public space gardens in
this region. We also have a very large donation of 2016 seeds to distribute to
groups in February and March who will be participating in Minnesota Green this
year, but the older seeds are for any community garden whether or not they are
part of the program.
The seed distribution will take place at our office in Roseville on January
27th and 28th. Please let me know if you're interested, and it would also be
helpful to know how many plots your garden represents.
Thanks very much,
