Hiawatha? I think that is what the maps would allow without special
permission.
Is this purely a market-driven thing in that areas with newly allowed
density (like along bus routes) becoming targets for commercial developers
or will the city be using eminent domain to clear out existing homes in
target areas say surrounding the 46th Station? I assume NOT, but I'd love
to hear more about this as it relates to our local area.
Also, looking at the maps (which are confusing), are some part along
Hiawatha Ave going to allow 10 story apartments? AKA "Transit 10" ...
https://minneapolis2040.com/topics/land-use-built-form/# Or is that
something else.
I'll be honest and say, I'd be OK with more tall apartments/condos along
Hiawatha (but those high power lines make me nervous), tear downs replaced
with duplexes, triplexes, etc. could be re-regulated if it gets out of hand
... but 4 stories along all bus routes city wide seems like a one size fits
all strategy wrought with challenges.
Thoughts?
