This year E-Democracy.Org received two important grants - one to establish at
least three new Issues Forums in rural Minnesota and another to focus resources
to establish a couple neighborhood forums in high immigrant/low income areas.
After a decade of all-volunteer effort, we are now gathering the resources to
take democracy and community online to the next level.
In 2008, we seek to increase our fund raising efforts to both implement our
strategic plan - which includes raising the level of support and recruitment
for this Issues Forum - and to develop new and exciting project proposals. In
our participant survey many of you expressed interest in ideas like a community
survey platform, online voter guides or digital inclusion and
we'd love to secure funding to pilot new efforts that build from the local
base this Issues Forum provides.
We are seeking recommendations on grant writers and perhaps you or someone you
know is such a person. If you already get what we do, it will be that much
easier for you to assist our efforts. Please see our project blog post for
