*I am looking for a few experienced gardeners to join a cohort to help
document how much food can be grown in a backyard garden setting. The
project is seeking experienced gardeners that grow a lot of food and
probably put food by; canning, freezing etc. That is, gardeners that are
really good at growing food for the family; not commercial growers or
hobbyists.*
*They would have to keep track of their five most productive or grown
crops, and how much time it takes, plus keep track of any out of pocket
expenses. The project will supply scales to weight the produce, some seeds
and plants, and a vegetable knife and a harvest bucket as incentives.*
*See attached.*
*The idea is to get a base line of what can be expected if you want to grow
your own food, and, the time and expense involved. There is very little
research on backyard growers. The hope is to build on this in future years
to encourage more people to grow their own food, based on some reality
of what it takes.*
*If you are or know of anyone that might be interested, or if you have any
questions, please contact me. *
*Kindest Regards, Karl*
*PS. I'm out of the office tomorrow. *
