"The Charter would allow the mayor to determine the school budget. City
Council can only lower it. Five of the 7 current school committee members
will not be eligible for re-election due to re-districting. All nine
committee members will get stipends and expense accounts. Knowing this do
you still like this charter?"
Even as she admitted that the two year terms will require school committee
members to run for re-election in their second year and that the entire
school committee is voted in/out at once she said "Yes."
Yikes! Framingham deserves the best. Not, as John Stefanin put it a
"There's a lot we missed - Nothing perfect" charter.
Please vote "No" on April 4th. We'll see another charter in 20 years
time.
Joke for the Day:
Q: Why is John Stefanini happy he's presenting the charter to the voters to
Framingham and NOT to a Fortune 100 company like GE?
A: If he spent 10 months and conducted 57 hearing on a charter for GE yet
claimed "There's a lot we missed - nothing perfect" he'd be fired.
