Commonwealth's newest city, the Framingham Cultural Council is organizing
and sponsoring an art contest open to students in Framingham schools, ages
11 through 18 as of January 1, 2018.
The theme of this year's contest is "city." All submissions should draw
inspiration from or respond to this theme in some way.
Contestants can submit one painting or drawing to one of the following
schools: Cameron, Fuller and Walsh Middle Schools; Framingham High School;
Marian High School; Keefe Regional Technical School; the Learning Center for
the Deaf; Christa McAuliffe Regional Charter School; Reed Academy; or St.
Bridget School. Home-school students can drop off their submissions at the
nearest public middle school or Framingham High School.
The submission must be received by March 16, 2018.
Monetary prizes will be awarded by a jury of artists, arts educators, and
museum administrators. Decisions will be announced by late April.
All submissions will be displayed in the Costin Room at the Main Library in
the month of April.
All submissions must be new and original and not copies or reinterpretations
of works by others. The work must not have been submitted or exhibited
previously. The Cultural Council reserves the right to reject any work for
any reason.
