I posted this on Craigslist as well but know you are all aware of the strengths
of this neighborhood so thought that this forum might be a good place to share.
I'm looking for a roommate for my two-bedroom upper duplex. It's a historic
home in the heart of this beautiful neighborhood-2 blocks from the Seward Co-op
and 7 from the Mississippi River. The house was built in the 1880s and is among
the more distinctive in the neighborhood. I've lived here for 2 years now and
have found the neighborhood to be welcoming, convenient, and beautiful. Rent
will likely be between $500-600 per month plus utilities-still waiting to hear
back from my landlord.
The apartment is pretty much furnished, and the bedroom could have a double
sized bed if you're interested. The kitchen was recently renovated, and laundry
is included in rent and in the unit. This apartment has relatively steep stairs
in both front and back entrances. It also has a "balconette" with a large
outdoor garden, both of which are quite delightful in the summer months.
About me: I'm a female mid-twenties professional, and am a transplant to the
Cities who originally moved out here for school. I was in the Peace Corps and
currently work at a large nonprofit here in the Cities. I like to spend my time
outdoors whenever the weather allows, biking, gardening, and on the lakes. I
don't think that drinking craft beer is a real hobby, but I won't judge you if
you do.
Bedroom #1 is quite large, has a south-facing window, and a good-sized closet.
I've been staying in this one, but could be open to re-locating under the right
conditions.
Bedroom #2 is a bit smaller, but would be accurately described by "cozy". It
has a fresh coat of paint, and is much warmer in the winter months!
An ideal roommate would be respectful of spaces, down to hang every so often,
and a decent cook. Bonus points for community-minded individuals, anyone with
gardening abilities, and a vision for interior decorating.
Please tell me a bit about yourself in the email-I have had some pretty stellar
roommates the past few years who have all moved on to graduate school, and I'm
hoping to fill their rather large shoes!
Best,
Casey
