> We are just days away from ASI's 2014 Midsommar Celebration! A day of
singing, dancing, lots of great music, delicious summer food and of course,
fun for all ages!

> Join in traditional Midsummer-pole raising (11:30 a.m.), singing and
dancing (1:30 and 3:30 p.m.) . Come hungry as FIKA will be serving
traditional Midsommar fare including herring plates, Swedish-style hot
dogs, and ice cream!

> Performances by 13 musical and dance groups including: ASI Male Chorus,
ASI Cloudberries, ASI Spelmanslag, visiting fiddlers from Sweden Ellinor &
Leonor, and many more! Highlights include craft demonstrations, flower
head-wreath making, face painting, storytelling, outside games and
activities. Explore the new exhibit The Image of Strindberg that opens on
the same day.

painting, floral headwreath making, craft activities, outdoor games and
storytelling (on the hour).

> Craft demonstrations by six local artists including: Handweaving on a
Table Loom (Studio Tupla); Wheel Thrown Pottery (Kilns of Flanders), Modern
Design created with iPad (Lisa Rydin Erickson), Bobbin Lace (Kelly
Marshall), Traditional stitches on Swedish waistbags (Natalie's Swedish
Pockets) and Scandinavian Folk Painting (Carole Youngquist).
> EXHIBIT OPENING: THE IMAGE OF STRINDBERG

> Be the first to see ASI's new summer exhibit The Image of Strindberg. The
madman, the genius, the jealous one, the brazen one. Historic photos and
modern prints explore the many sides of Sweden's most legendary poet,
playwright and visual artist, August Strindberg.

> The exhibition is produced by Fotografiska, the Swedish Museum of
Photography.

> ASI Presents TönöSauna at Northern Spark
> ASI brings the time-honored art and Finnish tradition of the sauna to
Northern Spark, Minneapolis' all-night arts festival on June 14, 2014.

> Visit ASI at Northern Spark at W River Pkwy near the Stone Arch Bridge.

> ASI has commissioned Futures North to create and craft a mobile public
sauna experience inside TönöSauna, a wood burning sauna built from a
salvaged 1966 Avion travel trailer. Inside the sauna, the community
conversation heats up as ASI and FuturesNorth curates a series of dialogue
with public leaders and eventgoers that will be projected outside to the
larger world via webcam and internet. Join in the conversation and the art
