neighborhoods, lakes, and the Mississippi River. Everything that’s in the
street ends up in our lakes and the Mississippi River. Rainwater carries
leaves, grass, excess salt, trash and dirt through the storm drain system
directly to our waters and decomposing plant material in the water encourages
the growth of harmful aquatic plants and algae. Adopt a drain today.

As the leaves continue to fall, remember pushing debris into streets is
illegal. Pushing leaves, grass clippings or other debris into city streets is
prohibited.
