Commonwealth's newest city, the Framingham Cultural Council is sponsoring an
art contest open to students in Framingham schools, ages 11 to 18 as of
January 1, 2019.
The theme of this year's contest is "kindness." All submissions should draw
inspiration from or respond to this theme in some way.
Contestants can submit one painting, drawing or photo image to the art
department of any participating school. Home-school students can drop off
their submissions at the nearest public middle school or Framingham High
School.
The submission must be received by April 5, 2019.
Prizes will be awarded by a jury of artists, arts educators, and museum
administrators. Decisions will be announced by late April.
All submissions will be displayed in the Costin Room and Gallery at the Main
Library in the month of May. Awards will be announced at the library
reception Thursday, May 30, 6:00pm.
All submissions must be new and original and not copies or reinterpretations
of works by others. The work must not have been submitted or exhibited
previously. The Cultural Council reserves the right to reject any work for
any reason.
