"Keystone Community Services announces the availability of scholarships
for adult learners.
Must be residents of the West 7th neighborhood of St. Paul. These funds
are from money that remained after the closing of the Oneida Education
Center that once operated in the West Seventh area. The St. Paul
Foundation currently provides financial management of this fund.
Between one to four individual grants ranging from $1,000 to $2,000 will
be made to those chosen by the selection committee. Grants must be used
towards a certificate or degree granting post-secondary education or
training program and/or expenses that will enable the adult learner to
pursue education or training. Funds will be paid directly to the school
or vendors for directly related expenses such as tuition, books, bus
passes, child-care, etc. or to the student on a reimbursement basis with
appropriate receipts for those expenses.
Candidates must be 18 years old before September 2019; reside in the
West 7th neighborhood (along West 7th Street between downtown St. Paul
and Fort Snelling, I-35E and the Mississippi River); be currently
enrolled in a certificate or degree granting post-secondary education
program in the year in which the grant is made β undergraduate programs
only. For other details and application forms call Julie Murphy at
651-504-2246 or e-mail <email obscured>. Past recipients are
not eligible.
In addition to completing the Grant Application Form, applicants are
asked to provide two recommendations from teachers, counselors or
employers on forms provided; current high school or post-secondary
transcripts; and proof of income.
Completed application materials must be submitted to West 7th Community
Center by February 28, 2019 or postmarked by that date.
