Before we get too far into the real heat of the election cycle, I want to make
sure the civility rules with respect to name calling are clear.
1) A public figure gets the same respect as our regular members on this forum.
This is what makes us different from the other discussion venues. Elected
officials or those seeking office are treated with no less respect than anyone
else in the forum.
2) If the person does not refer to *themselves* by the name being used then it
is name calling. Period. The media don't get to choose the person's appropriate
nick names either. ;-)
Too formal? Perhaps. But it is not going to hurt anyone to be a little more
courteous than less and it helps avoid a whole lot of unnecessary discussion
about intent.
As a reminder, comments or complaints about forum management or complaints
about member rule violations must *not* be posted to the main forum. To do so
is a violation of the forum rules. Instead, direct such messages privately to
me.
Thanks to everyone for their support.
