A friend of mine sent me this message. I didn't hear anything but maybe someone
did!
So did any of you hear the helicopter around 11:30 last night? At first I
thought there was more than one - just a lot of traffic to a hospital or
something, then it got really loud and a bright light shown in our north
windows. I got up and looked and it was one helicopter, likely police with a
big spot light hovering over S. Mpls. Possibly following a police chase? I
watched it hover over an area likely to be around Cedar Ave. for 5-10 minutes
before heading north.
Couldn't find anything in the news this morning.

My girlfriend used to live in Whittier (Franklin & Nicollet) and this was a
nightly occurrence. That a helicopter buzzing our neighborhood is noteworthy
makes one appreciate how fortunate we are.
