Mapumental Property - find a home within a bearable commute
Party poppers at the ready - we've just taken the wraps off our sparkly new
website, Mapumental Property <http://property.mapumental.com>
Here's how it works: you decide what counts as a tolerable public transport
commute time, and the site displays homes for sale or rent within that
timeband.
Our aim was to make something useful. A welcome side-effect is that it's
kind of fun... and fascinating. Mapumental Property covers everywhere in
Britain, and all types of public transport.
Of course, the main purpose is to help with your commute to work - but some
early users have been using it to find homes within school catchments.
Another has linked to a Mapumental Property page in an accommodation wanted
ad<http://www.reddit.com/r/London_homes/comments/12uxhd/looking_room_close_as_poss_to_ec1_usually_just/>
.
We'd love to hear how you'll use it, too - drop a line to
<email obscured>.

FixMyStreet - anywhere in the world
FixMyStreet <http://www.fixmystreet.com> covers all of the UK. But we can't
build street-reporting sites for the whole world, so friends abroad may
like to know that we've made it easier than ever before to set up your own
version<http://www.mysociety.org/2012/10/03/installing-fixmystreet-and-mapit/>
.
If you've ever thought about building a site like FixMyStreet outside the
UK, now is a great time. DIY mySociety <http://diy.mysociety.org> is our
ongoing project to make it easier for other people to build websites using
our code - that's the first place to check in for help and support.

Hansards at the local level
mySociety Director Tom Steinberg shared a vision for local government

and we were bowled over with your responses.
We delighted to see that there's a thirst for this concept of easy-access
to local council meetings. Please do keep your thoughts
coming<<email obscured>>
.

And finally
*It's quick and convenient* to make a report on FixMyStreet. Or you can
take your time, and craft something
beautiful<http://www.fixmystreet.com/report/290068>
.
*FixMyTransport volunteers* have been busy posting useful advice for
passengers <http://blog.fixmytransport.com/> on the blog. Anything else
you'd like to see covered? Tell the team <<email obscured>>.
*Hire Us! We build almost anything
online<http://www.mysociety.org/projects/bespoke-development/>
* - always beautiful, always highly usable.
