My original criticism of Rich Shapiro was related to his snarky comment against
Maria Robinson who will not take office until some time in January. Every
reader of Rich's past posts here and on other sites knows that he did not vote
for Maria, but Maria was nevertheless elected and, in fact, defeated Rich's
secret candidate overwhelmingly. So, why the snark after the election? Was it
bitterness or something else? Maria couldn't possibly have done anything to
offend Rich and, in fact, Rich gave no reason for his snarky comment.
Rich's attack against Maria reminded me of his relentless attacks against the
mayor-elect well before she was sworn into office. Attacks like these encourage
others to attack and tend to denigrate government, which I have noted and
objected to on other sites. Suze, you, more than anyone, ought to know this
because I also objected when you and Rich were the top harassers of Yvonne
Spicer after she was elected, but before she took office. You objected to my
criticism then and you do so now. I happen to know for sure that you are
anything but a racist, but the way you defend Rich one wouldn't get that
impression. Rich was the person who alluded to race. For what reason? For what
purpose? I find it demeaning that he believes that Maria was advantaged because
she was born in Korea or is a woman or, for that matter, that Dr. Spicer was
advantaged because she is an African-American woman. That's just so twisted!
If, in fact, Emerge encouraged either one to run for office, do you have a
problem with that? Certainly, it is no cause for animosity. So, get over it and
wish Maria well instead of making snarky remarks against progressives and
supporting snarky remarks hinting of racial animus.
