While I feel that anyone should know about as much as they can about the
candidate and even though I might not like the candidate, his private life
should remain private. At no time should someone be subject to these type
of questions and the forum they were at should of put a stop to it. We the
Committee For the People when we hold a forum are reminding the candidates
that no questions of a personal nature will be asked by anyone.
As for the Peace and Justice holding a forum, I agree they should, however;
ground rules should be made and adhered to by everyone participating and
attending. Those ground rules should not allow personal questions or
anything that might refer to anything personal. They should not only invite
Mr Shendo and Mr Lujan, but they should include the other candidates as
well. Because if you are going to give the citizens a choice, then give
them all those running, so the citizens can make a decision and not make
this a Shendo versus Lujan forum.
These are my thoughts on this issue and would also like to invite those of
you out there that are interested in what the Committee For the People is
doing or are going to be doing that you attend an organizational meeting
tomorrow, Tuesday, May 27 at 6:00pm at Dave's Furniture on South Grand
Avenue. The CFP is trying to organize to address issues that affect us the
taxpayer. The CFP will be looking into the Las Vegas City Council, San
Miguel County, Luna Community College, New Mexico Highlands University, East
Las Vegas Schools and West Las Vegas Schools.
