All the best,

Beginning Monday, August 27, Hosmer
Library<https://www.hclib.org/about/locations/hosmer> will be closed for
renovation. The library is scheduled to reopen by the end of spring 2019.
One of four Carnegie-funded libraries in the city of Minneapolis, Hosmer
Library opened in 1916. The building's historic character will be carefully
retained through the renovation, as the library has received historic
designation from the City of Minneapolis Heritage Preservation Commission.
Repairs and preservation work will address the building exterior, including the
large skylight and refurbishment of historic wood windows.
Inside, patrons will find library spaces updated for increased flexibility and
improved access to library services. The renovated entry will increase
connectivity between the library's main floor and the lower level, and meeting
spaces of various sizes will be available on both floors. Areas for children
and teens will be located to the front of the building and designed to support
the activity level of youth programs, with the back of the building offering
quieter computer use and seating.
Restrooms will be upgraded for ADA compliance, new energy-efficient LED
lighting will be installed, and wireless connectivity will be improved
throughout the building. The project budget is $4.4 million, with the design by
architect Leo A Daly.
"Hosmer Library has served its community for over 100 years," said Hennepin
County Commissioner Peter McLaughlin. "With this renovation, we're investing in
the health of the building and ensuring library services can be successfully
delivered in decades to come."
