embarrassing another person using the internet or other technologies, such as
posting embarrassing pictures on social media or sending hurtful or threatening
text messages.â This appears to be the main strategy employed by Ms. Spicerâs
Campaign Committee.
Dave Hornfisher states in the FramGov post âGleaning motive from video,"
âI know, like and respect both Norma and John. They are two of the most
politically savvy people I know. They are both SMART. At least I thought so.
Why would NEITHER ask the library staff where Norma could leave her materials
temporarily and what John could do about materials he thought were illegally
placed? No one wants to ask anymore! It's easier to act and then either feel
victimized or apologize . They both know better. I'm surprised!â
After the incident, John immediately apologized to you Ms. Spicer. Did you
accept his apology? It is understandable that your supporters posted this
incident on FramGov and in the local paper. This should have been sufficient
but then their destructive cyber bullying behavior escalated and it appears to
have no end.
Ms. Spicer, as a former teacher you must be knowledgeable about the dangers of
cyber bullying. Not only does it hurt the target but its sets a bad example
for our children and harms our society as a whole. Do you condone this
behavior of your campaign staff and supporters? Do you realize that their
behavior reflects negatively on you as well?
We have been working hard to make Framingham a better place to live. If you
become Framinghamâs first mayor, will we need to fear that cyber bullying will
become the norm? This destructive behavior is hurting Framingham. You have a
choice - you can continue to foster division or find a way for us to work
together for the good of our community.
