Cafe and Deli, run by my good friend Karima Omer, is re-opening tomorrow
and they need us! Karima has worked tirelessly the last several years,
through too many obstacles to count, to keep her business alive -- and
she's not stopping now. Also, her sambusas are the best in town, and
everything else I used to eat there is excellent. She'll have a new menu,
including new non-East African dishes, which you can check out below. I've
lined up $700 worth of free meals -- so 70 of them! -- to get Sabrina's
jumping in the next few weeks, to help feed those in need, to give new
people a chance to try her delicious food, and to show some serious Midway
love. If you'd like to donate, please DM me, and I'll be fully transparent
in how the money is spent. If you'd like to claim a meal ticket, let me
know, no questions asked. I also hope to do this for other neighborhood
businesses in need of our support always, but especially in light of events
of the past few months. If you'd like to donate or work with me on such
efforts, DM me or email me at <email obscured>. Lastly, I ask that
you be patient with them re-opening a business (with a new menu) in such
trying times. Overwhelming them with our business is a good thing, but we
also know that can be difficult to handle if orders are flying in all at
the same time. Please, please, please stop by Sabrina's in the next few
weeks or months -- and thank you in advance.
