Stop for Me fails to understand the lack of driving education that many people
here have.
As a pedestrian, I have seen a driver stopped half a block away while I am two
feet from the crosswalk. When I am actually at the crosswalk, I find the
driver, still half a block away, annoyingly waving me on. The driver is not
pulled over to stop, but actually in the traffic lane. This has happened so
many times that I can no longer count. The poor driving skills of this driver
not using the right of way makes it unsafe both for me as a pedestrian and
other drivers who might encounter this situation.
This is just one of many poor driving behaviors frequently encountered, usually
regarding a driver not using the right of way. That coupled with intersections
that have poor sight lines for pedestrians and drivers and it is a wonder that
crashes don't happen more often.
