Next GBCP Meeting (19 January)
The papers for the next meeting are attached. Technically, it’s a meeting of
the GBCP Board, but everyone is welcome to attend and have their say.
This time, the agenda is mainly an up-date about what’s going on, what
resources do we have etc. This is a useful way to begin the year, so it may
be worth your while to go through the reports, especially Andrew’s which is a
good summary of what we’ve done and what lies ahead.
Hard copies of the papers will be available at Southville Centre in a few days
and there will probably be some hard copies at the meeting.
Bedminster Skills Week
Last year we publicised around 100 skills and we are going for the same target
in 2015. Thanks to the people who have already contacted us. We hope to
have a fairly complete programme by early March. The week itself is from May
9-17 and we are working closely with the Southbank Arts Trail (May 16-17).
We are looking for skills from individuals or groups. Can you offer a session
on yoga, basket ball or Italian opera? Money management, playing the banjo
or child care? This is a good way to promote your skill, encourage people to
share your hobby or just be gobsmacked by your capacity to play the mouth organ
whilst juggling milk bottles. Get in touch and tell us what you would like to
offer and, if you can, where you would like to offer it. Contact
<email obscured> and <email obscured> We’ll get back to you.
Town Team Treasurer Wanted
Bedminster Town Team runs marketing and place making events to promote the
local high streets in the face of a growing internet threat. See
www.bedminster.org.uk and www.bedminstertownteam.com . It relies heavily on
volunteers to ensure that its funds (£85K pa via the Business Improvement
District) go as far as possible and is seeking a voluntary treasurer to attend
monthly board meetings (first Tuesday 6pm) and manage the bank account.
Accountancy qualifications are not required as an accountant is retained for
annual reporting, VAT matters etc, although a business-like approach would be
good. The time needed is about 1 hour per week.
Contact <email obscured> or 07801790645 if you are interested.
Please pass this on etc
