I’m concerned about cross pollination of beans and peas that I’d like to grow
this year, as I will be saving seed. So I’m coming to the experts for help!
I’ve read that the common bean won’t pollinate with a lima bean. I’ve also read
that cow peas won’t cross pollinate with chick peas. So I’m hoping to grow a
pole bean, a fava bean, a cow pea, a snap pea (snow) and a shelling pea. Do I
need to be concerned with cross pollination of any of them? Will a pea cross
pollinate with a bean?
Also wondering about fertilizer and inoculant. What do you use? Do you use
inoculant for peas as well as beans?
Thanks for your help!
