bags AND I shop in friendlier places than Minneapolis to do business. Sat.
Anthony, Columbia Heights, Richfield, to name a few. Heck, I even go mostly
to the Aldis in Fridley rather than in Minneapolis. Less hassle, cleaner
stores. Usually a little better produce. And the Cub at 39th and Silver Lake
is simply nicer than ours on Lake St. Sure I go to the one on Lake
occasionally, but lets face it, the prices are the same and store and the
produce is better. And they will give plastic bags. The Target on 694 is easy
to get to, and they give you all the bags you want. :-) The Sam's up there and
out in Bloomington are the same.
By the way the last Rainbow out on 66th at the HUB is fabulous as well. I
liked shopping at Rainbow, and still do, but not in Minneapolis. :-)
Several of my friends are "Servers" in restaurants and bars. They make MORE
than 15.00 per hour and are pissed about the talk of paying them 15.00 an hour
and cutting tips. So same with restaurants and bars. Other than good old
Ballentine VFW I choose to go mostly to the burbs OR to St. Paul. But I must
admit I like my old watering hole at Ballentine and a couple of other VFW's and
Legion clubs. Nicer people than most bars. :-) Better drinks as well. :-)
Of course for me this bag thing is the biggest joke imaginable. That Mayor and
those Council Members refuse to do anything about criminals openly doing
business in my community, but have time to play at such foolishness??? More
than 50% of poor children are FAILED by Minneapolis Public Schools and yet the
concern is about plastic bags??? God I love my City, but how did we get the
fools who are playing at running it?
They allow my street to smell like rotten silage because they do not properly
clean the streets. They allow leaves to rot in the gutters and then run into
the sewers and out into our lakes and they worry about plastic bags harming the
environment??? What a joke!!! Unfortunately, not a funny one. :-)
Sorry for the rant, but having gunshots wake me up and thinking about the
priorities of the Minneapolis Mayor and Council being plastic bags just pisses
me off.
