we need to do in Christchurch.
(More about that in some posts to come later this week and next.)
Steve Clift told us that in St Paul they hired 10 people to collect
signatures and they now have over 3000 people in 16 areas.
We need to do something like that in Christchurch, but hopefully we can
do that with volunteers, each person putting in something like 4 hours.
I'm happy to offer leadership and training. So who wants to help?
My suggestion is that we do specific streets, with several people
working together. The idea is to get 25% of the houses in each street
to join.
That density of commitment enables those streets with leadership to
take it another step and organise a street part, make a formal street
group, or set up Neighbourhood Watch or whatever they choose.
If you can do this in your street, your street will be stronger and
better connected and in the end a better place to live.
What do you think?
Are we up for it, or is it just too hard?
