Oxford. I am looking at the statistics available here:
https://www.police.uk/thames-valley/N450/performance/compare-your-area/
General speaking comparing Oxford to the other cities seems reassuring. If you
go through the separate types of crime, Oxford seems mostly below average.
One exception that I can understand is 'bicycle theft' where Oxford is the
second highest (after Cambridge).
The most striking exception, however, I don't understand: 'Theft from the
person'. In this statistic Oxford seems to skyrocket to 1st place, and is more
than twice the 'similar group average'.
Can anyone explain this? Do you have the sense that Oxford is a particularly
high risk area for 'theft from the person'? Any help understanding why this is
the case for Oxford is appreciated. Thank you very much.
