About a week or so ago, a few of us participated on a con call about the
future of city camp and where we go from here. I did not take notes, but
the following, to the best of my recollection, were the action items for the
next meeting and the stuff we need to get done in the mean time.
1) Create/finalize the funding model and TOS (for lack of a better term) for
organizer that accept CityCamp grants.
2) Create information for potential sponsors
3) Create guidelines for local citycamp web presences
4) Create a structure to provide support and advise to local organizers.
(i.e. options for structuring a camp, co-branding, and collaboration with
other groups).
5) Potential creation of some group akin to a board of advisors.
6) Curating the CityCamp Web presences (i.e. Web site, twitter, and etc.)
7) How to better reach a boarder audience or taking it to the next level.
I may have missed something and I didn't really flush any of the topics out.
So if you participated, please feel free to comment with revisions or
additions. And for other unable to participate, please feel free to weight
in with your questions, thoughts, and ideas.
Kevin and a couple others started a Google document for drafting the Sponsor
Prospectus that will address the first point. If you'd like to participate
in preparing that document, please contact Kevin.
As we move forward, it will be important for local organizers to work
together to assure the long term growth and strength of the CItyCamp
ecosystem. Please feel free to share your thoughts and thanks for being
involved in our growing community.
Cheers,
