Central Ohio Regional Issues Forum, we want to spend a moment discussing where
we hope to see this community in the future.
We’ve been very pleased with the depth and breadth of the discussions that have
taken place to date, and look forward to seeing these interactions grow in the
future. Among the many topics that have been covered so far is the streetcar
proposal in Columbus, historical preservation of local buildings, and
suggestions to help residents reduce their personal energy consumption.
Building from these conversations it is particularly important to ensure that a
steady dialogue in the forum is maintained in order to keep it healthy and
vibrant. We have noticed that discussion has slowed recently, and we want to
make sure that things get rolling again this summer. You are the key to this
effort, and we highly encourage you to post new topics about the issues you
care about and to respond to existing threads with your insight. This online
community is owned by all of YOU, and it will work best when all of the members
participate in (and initiate) discussions.
Now that the forum has been established and is up and running, a primary goal
is to increase the forum’s membership and expand its reach throughout the
region. In the coming weeks we will be contacting local civic groups and
governmental organizations to promote the forum and recruit new people to join
this community. We also hope that you will help in this recruitment effort by
talking to your family, friends, and associates about the forum and encouraging
them to join. Anyone interested in joining the forum can email us at
<email obscured> or visit the forum’s website at

Thank you for all that you have done so far and we appreciate your assistance
in helping the forum grow as we move forward. With your help we believe that
we can make this forum a thriving community for Central Ohioans to share ideas
with each other, solve local problems, and build a stronger regional identity.
Your forum managers,
Josh Wiener & Liz Ike
