Dear Karl, Twin Cities Growers Network people, and Austen:
Great to see Austen's article about the Twin Cities Growers Network
gathering.
Marcy-Holmes - a neighborhood next to the U of M, including Dinkytown and
the Mississippi riverfront - is home to many renters and condo residents
without access to gardening space. The Greening Committee of the
Marcy-Holmes Neighborhood Association is starting a garden matching program
for landowners with potential gardens to match with people who want to
garden and need space. We are in the exploratory phase of surveying people
for interest.
Nicole Bridgland, co-chair of the Greening Committee with me, is leading
this effort; I am not employed now, and can give time to help this get
started.
Help we would love:
- people who would like to help us get started
- promotion of the survey for people in the area who would like to garden
- any advice you have!
Thank you for your consideration.
Here is the notice we posted in the neighborhood newsletter:
URBAN FARMING - YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO HELP GROW LOCAL FOOD
Marcy-Holmes is ready to help you get access to the MOST local food β the
vegetables and fruits you can grow right here in the neighborhood. The
Greening Committee is launching an Urban Farming pilot, matching land and
mentors with people who need either one.
*Are you interested in growing food in Marcy-Holmes, but need a place to
garden?* If so, please take this survey.

*Do you have space you can share with someone who wants to grow food here,
or are you a gardening lover who would be happy mentoring a new urban
farmer?* If so, please take this survey.
