coming! Every winter, different artists perform engaging puppet shows at 10
a.m. and 12 noon. A great alternative to screen time, these performances will
delight kids of all ages! Additionally, Make ânâ Take workshops are offered at
11 a.m. each Saturday morning where participants create a puppet in the theme
of the dayâs show.

WHERE: All shows in our cozy theatre lobby (1500 E Lake Street, Minneapolis)
*Some shows are performed in Spanish, others are performed in English. Youâll
find children love puppets regardless of language!
Tickets are $7 suggested donation
Come for the show and stay for the family Make-n-Take activities in our
classroom at 11 am each Saturday morning. These puppet-making workshops are
based on the show of the day and led by accomplished puppeteers. Registration
for workshops is recommended and can be made in advance at the 10 am show or by
calling 612-721- 2535 the previous week. The workshop price is $5 for children
and $3 for adults.
January 6
Lupita Doesn't Want to Sleep â created and performed by Gustavo and Julie Boada
This is a story about a feisty little girl who always finds a way to keep
playing when it is time to go to sleep. The show highlights the joyful moments
of parent-child relationships. Performed in Spanish and English.
January 13
Nalah and the Pink Tiger â created and performed by Anne Sawyer
Based on a picture book of the same title by artist, author and puppeteer, Anne
Sawyer. She drew inspiration for this story from her lively little niece. She
lives so intensely in her imagination that grown-ups around her view her as a
troublemaker. Things come to a head when, in addition to all the exotic animals
that Nalah has âplacedâ in the house, a pink tiger âfollowsâ her home from the
zoo and creates havoc. The story also celebrates the joyful explosiveness of a
childâs imagination. Original soundtrack by Matt Larson.
January 20
It and Git â Or How Change Makes the World Go Round â created and performed by
Theresa Linnihan
Millions and billions of years ago two cousins floated happily in a primeval
ocean. Floating was about all they could do because little IT and little GIT
were amoebas. But nothing can float forever. Volcanos erupt. Oceans shift. And
the cousins must change or perish. Theresa Linnihan presents an original take
on the story of evolution. Performing with a cranky, a form of primitive
animation, and colorful shadow puppets Theresa invites the audience to cheer
little IT and GIT along the dangerous and miraculous path to becoming human.

Garyâs Garden â created and performed by Seth Eberle
In this production, Gary has saved some of his seeds from last year in order to
plant his garden. While waiting for the plants to grow, a sneaky rabbit tries
to avoid detection. He really wants a nice meal! Will Gary stop the rabbit
from getting into his garden? Gary's Garden is meant for children ages 2-8 as
they learn about where food comes from and how plants grow.
February 3
Martina the Cockroach, and Perez the Mouse / La Cucarachita Martina y el Raton
Perez â created and performed by Gustavo and Julie Boada
This is a bilingual version of a Cuban and Puerto Rican folk tale. Martina is a
beautiful, hardworking, dancing cockroach. She longs to be asked to the dance
to find her true love. Through the help of her grandmotherâs secret âcoffee
testâ she finds her ideal mate, proving that good friendship is a good basis
for love. The unlikely couple marry and live a simple life, overcoming
obstacles and growing together. Performed in Spanish and English.
February 10
Loon's Song - created and performed by Julie and Gustavo Boada
As the constellations move into their spring location, Grandfather Turtle waits
with anticipation for the return of his beloved granddaughter, Loon. He
remembers the Ojibwe stories he told her and some of the lessons they carry
that he used to guide her as she matured. The piece is told with hand and rod
puppets. It touches on Ojibwe culture and loon biology. Music by Jim Parker.

Tiger Man - created and performed by Patty Gille
Tiger Man (a new super hero from India) is joined by some of your favorite
super heroes in a fast-paced, song-filled new show. Can Tiger Manâs speed and
strength and magic drum save the day when the Evil Onie crashes their super
party?

On the Day You Were Born - created by In the Heart of the Beast Theatre,
performed by Julie Boada and Esther Ouray
Based on the award winning childrenâs book by Debra Frasier, the story explores
the scientific phenomena that unfolded on the day âyouâ entered the world. This
toy theater production combines puppetry, poetry and music that celebrate the
natural miracle of the earth. The authorâs radiant collage illustrations
translate to a miniature stage as puppeteers open trick boxes releasing the
wonders described in the book.
March 3
The Way of the Monarch - created and performed by Laurie Witzkowski
The Way of the Monarch follows the spectacular metamorphosis and migration of
the monarch butterfly. This beloved creature transforms from egg to larva to
caterpillar to chrysalis to butterfly to international traveler. Performed in
Spanish

The Book Worm Tales - created and performed by K&M Puppets
Come Join the "Book Worms, " the weekly gathering of the pigeons of Lake
Street, as they peruse classics of childrenâs literature they discover in local
Little Free Libraries. They will explore characters, themes, and character
options as the "Book Worms," revisit some of your favorite stories, and maybe
even introduce you to new ones.
