Rally against Racism
When: Thursday, June 14th 5:00—6:30pm
Where: Beltrami County Courthouse Pavilion (6th & Beltrami Ave NW)
What: In response to the recent hate crime that took place on May 25th, 2012 in
northern township, Bemidji, Shared Vision is convening a community rally on
Thursday, June 14th at the county courthouse pavilion. The event, “Moving
Forward: Rally against Racism” will highlight why it’s important as a community
to condemn the cross burning and to address what we can do to move forward and
promote diversity and anti-racism in northern Minnesota. Different elected
city, county and tribal leaders will speak at this event along with Shared
Vision representatives. The community is invited to participate in a brief
“open mic” following the statements of community leaders. During this time,
speakers are encouraged to focus on what we can do as a community to move
forward and promote a more tolerant, welcoming environment in the future.
Please note: seating may be limited; please feel free to bring your own chairs
to accommodate your needs.
The mission of Shared Vision is “to promote mutual understanding and acceptance
