Subject: Fw: URGENT - Hands off our co-ops!
There is a legal challenge being taken by Carrefour against the entire
European co-operative model - they see it as anti competetive and are
trying to get what they view as 'State Subsidies' removed, allowing them
greater access to - in this case - the Italian Marketplace. This legal
action threatens all Co-ops everywhere in Europe, no matter what sector
they operate in.
Below is a petition and further info.
Please sign it.
Cheers
Sven

URGENT - Hands off our co-ops!
As someone with a keen interest in co-operatives help us to put pressure
on the European Commission by signing an online petition.
The Commission is currently examining so-called claims of unfair state aid
to co-operatives. If they come to the wrong conclusion its decision could
hurt some 250,000 co-operatives across Europe - including those in the UK.
And it could be the thin end of the wedge with future legislative attacks
from the private sector on co-operatives to be expected.
Please click here for more information and to sign the petition.
Thank you.

In terms of the neutered UK housing sector this petition may seem a
case of shutting the gate after the horse has bolted. All the same
this is still worth supporting.
