There is a garden along the Greenway in Uptown - between Lyndale and Garfield
bridges, just below the Murals Apartments - that is in need of a garden team to
adopt it!!! This is a flower/perennial garden only (the soil is not
conducive to vegetable gardens). It has been around for 19 years - started by
a group of friends that used to have coffee at Vera's Coffee Shop (where Taco
Lagos is now) and discuss how nice it would be if the hillside across the way
was more interesting to look at.
The caretaker and one of the original gardeners, Donovan - is at a point in his
life where he is not able to tend the garden. There are some real gems
planted in this garden that have definitely been a labor of love for many
years. And enjoyed by so many!!! It's quite rewarding to hear the "Thank You"
and "This garden is beautiful" comments from passer-byers while tending the
garden.
If you are interested in taking on this garden (I would actually still like to
work in the garden, but not able to take it on as the lead) - please contact
the current caretaker -

Let's save Vera's and keep the Greenway beautiful!!!
