points.
1. The burning up and down lake street happened after the National Guard was
deployed. They were not outnumbered, most was done by a group of about thirty
to fifty people. Most happened in daylight. The guard did not help.
2. The burning of the 31st. Post office and the Wells Fargo bank happened after
the guard was deployed. I have video of the guard on Blaisdell while the
buildings were in fire. They didn’t help.
3. The burnings set in neighborhoods in dumpsters and in the street in 31st
and Pleasant and Pillsbury happened while the guard was on 31st and Blaisdell,
just two or three blocks away. They couldn’t be bothered to help.
4. At night when neighbors were out protecting their buildings and homes, the
National Guard while deployed, they were not in sight. Not on Lake Street, Not
on Broadway N. Not anywhere. No police presence while according to
Commissioner Harrington, "The largest police presence in the history of
Minnesota" was deployed to Minneapolis.
5. Instead of protecting us they slashed tires, shot bean bags and paint balls
at citizens on their porch, arrested reporters, and peaceful citizens, paraded
around.
6. They were of no help at all, anywhere, anytime. See my video for proof.
Where is the discussion between community groups and the city to set parameters
or protests during the trial. Where is any attempt at all to keep the city
safe.
No, Frey has given up. He is going for the grand gesture which will accomplish
nothing for public safety. It will only allow him to say "I did all I can, I’m
just a victim of history". As if any of this year's violence happened to him.
It is instructive that all the representatives of the district where Floyd was
killed, and contains Lake Street have opposed this occupation. Senator Fatah,
Representatives Gomez and Hassan have been courageous, intelligent and
articulate. Listen to and read their statements.
We need real leadership in city hall.
