There are now 7 DFL, 2 Republican, 7 Independence, 1 Libertarian, and 1 Constitution candidates running for the U.S. Senate seat up for grabs this year. Look'em up here, folks: http://candidates.sos.state.mn.us/ Can't say I've heard of any of the Democrats aside from Al Franken, P. Lord Faris (only in the last few days), and the perennial candidates. Who is Alve Erickson of Chisholm? Bob Larson of South St. Paul? Rob Fitzgerald of Fergus Falls? I guess we'll see some of them in debates or forums, depending on how they poll. I don't think the outcome of the primary is in any doubt, though. I have heard of Dean Barkley and Jack Ulrich, newly registered Independence candidates running against the endorsed candidate, but there are four others I've never heard of. Who'd they endorse, again? Won't bother with the rest (already mentioned that guy giving Norm heck from Rome), but 18 folks should make things interesting.
We (Independence party) endorsed Stephen Williams for Senate last month.
I will be voting for Jack Uldrich in the primary. The link got his website
wrong. He is at jumpthecurve.net, I'm pretty sure.
Robert Fitzgerald, now running in the DFL primary, was the endorsed Independence Party candidate in the race with now-Senator Klobuchar and Mark Kennedy two years ago .... Here he is on TPT: Almanac in the closing days of that campaign: http://www.tpt.org/aatc/videos/2006/10/20/almanac_october_20_2006/robert_fitzgerald Dave Hutcheson North Saint Paul
