Subject: Arson Investigator looking for public's assistance
*Concerns case 08-176 572 arson fire at the CARDINAL RESTAURANT/BAR 2916
E. 38th Street June 14th 2008 0404 hours.*
* **At 0404 hours on Saturday * *June* *14th 2008, a passerby notified
Minneapolis 911 of a fire on an awning outside the Cardinal Bar at 2916 East
38th Street. A truck driver for the Star-Tribune stopped and used an
extinguisher on the fire, knocking down the bulk of the problem prior to the
arrival of the M.F.D. *
* *There are no accidental causes for this fire. Debris at the scene would
suggest that an unknown suspect(s) ignited a fire on some paper and held it
up against the awning. Damage is estimated at $2,500 dollars.
The Cardinal Restaurant Bar is a family owned business and has been a good
business citizen in Minneapolis for many years.
*Anyone with information about those responsible for this fire is asked to
contact Sgt. Sean McKenna of the Arson Squad at 612-673-3389 or at **
<email obscured>* <sean.mckenna@ci.minneapolis.mn.us>* or
the Minnesota Arson Hotline at 1-800-723-2020. A reward of up to $2,500
dollars is offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of
those responsible for setting this fire.*

I hope they catch the jerks who did that. I like the Cardinal. It's just
lucky they didn't succeed in burning the whole place down.
Didn't a house across the street from there get torched, too?
